beach day. lauren and i took a spontaneous trip to avalon, nj with jane for the day

another great day. i love july! eric and i went to the pool and then met up with lauren for a movie in the evening (the hangover. super funny).

friday game night! i got tickets from work for the phillies again. super stoked about that. great game. we beat the pirates 3-2. aaannnddd it was fireworks night in honor of the 4th!

they were AMAZING! i almost cried they were the best i've ever seen!

we just missed the train to get home so we hung out at the fountain of this new restaurant outside. very relaxing. very great day

christ and i got dusty to sign his waiver to take the bikes out. he thought the whole thing was kind of silly and pointless and asked me who he should sign his name as. i suggested Emilio Estevez. that he did.

ok, though work can be frustrating at times, there are always some positives... like the bike share program! you sign a waiver and then take out a bike whenever you want and ride around the navy yard.

keeping the sewing alive. here's the beginnings of another quilt. i'm currently working on a t-shirt quilt of all my old t-shirts. in the process i found this one below...

my ren and stimpy show t-shirt from 2nd grade! and it still fits! this can't go in the quilt yet. i'm going to get some wear out of it first.

BURGER THROW-DOWN!!!!

eric's work friends and friends of friends at the grill. each made a burger for the competition.

so everyone at 7 different kinds of burgers!! what a day!

not only were burgers in competition, but there was a special dessert category as well. don't even get me started. they were all SOOO good. my favorite isn't pictured (nutella and strawberry grilled pizza. unreal.)

i, feeling very productive, decided to start sewing again and reusing some old clothes.

here is my first attempt in several years. i made this short skirt from a full length one. added the waist band and zipper. and it fit in the end, too!
